Strap-on 101 Launches Kink’s new Workshop Series

News Image by Nic Rathert Inspired by the Kink.com Mission of "empowering people to explore their sexuality," we are launching a Workshop Series! You will now be able to get tips from the pros and have the information and encouragement to support your exploration. Every month we will offer a new topic on how to spice things up. Learning has never been this much fun.

We begin our workshop series with classes by Rain DeGrey, one of our favorite and most popular models. As a well-seasoned sex educator, she was the perfect person to premiere the program. She’ll be kicking things off with her most requested topic, Strap-On 101.

Whether you are a strap-on virgin or love to dish it out and just want to pick up a few pointers, this class will have something for everyone! Rain will cover all the bases when it comes to strap-on play. From the basics of care and cleaning of toys and choosing the best lubes, to the wide range of exploration that is possible with strap-on play. The workshop will even include a live demo portion!

We asked Rain a few questions about being a Sex Educator and what she has planned.

Behind Kink: How did you get into teaching sexuality workshops?

Rain DeGrey: I got into teaching sexuality workshops as a natural extension of being a sexual, kinky person. I have always been very passionate about information and education, and very comfortable with public speaking, thanks to the years I spent in the spoken word performance circuit in the Bay Area before I started shooting porn. Once I got into porn, I was surprised at the lack of information even among other sex workers. I started doing mini sex workshops for my fellow models, passing on tips and tricks I had picked up along the years. Pretty soon I realized I had so much to say about the topics I was passionate about, that workshops were the natural progression.

Behind Kink: Do you think being in porn plays a part in the tone or style of your workshops?

Rain DeGrey: I would like to think that the fact I do porn has no bearing on the classes I teach. While someone might be more inclined to take the class because they have seen my work, I can only hope they sit through it and learn something, whether they were planning to or not! Come for the boobs, stay for the education.

Behind Kink: What can people expect from your Strap-on 101 class?

Rain DeGrey:I want people to take away a sense of "aha! I can do that!” My classes cover safety and cleaning methods, how-to tips, and how to actually implement these things in your everyday life. If one person has the courage to try something new, their sex life improves, and they are a happier person as a result, then teaching was worthwhile. But don't worry, in keeping with Kink's reputation as the deliverer of all things sexy, there will be LIVE demos. Our models know how to put the sexy in Sex Ed!
