Kink.com has been getting lots of mainstream attention lately. In the past few weeks, we’ve been in places like Entertainment Weekly, Cosmopolitan and the Huffington Post — all of whom are eager to see the new documentary produced by one of our new biggest fans — actor, writer, and producer James Franco. Franco was first introduced to Kink.com while shooting the feature film About Cherry at the Armory. Soon after, he convinced his long-time cinematographer Christina Voros to come shoot kink, a in-depth documentary about what really goes on at the world’s largest producer of BDSM pornography. Kink will premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival on Saturday — and hopefully spark many discussions about kink, BDSM, and the production of fantasy.

Be sure to also check out Why Kink Matters, a Huffington Post Op-Ed by Peter Acworth, Kink.com founder and CEO, which explains why he gave full access to the documentary crew, and what he hopes it will accomplish.

Just saw as much footage as I could find on this, basically the trailer and the interviews after the Sundance veiwing. Fantastic. Pining for the chance to see this; please let it be soon! Everybody (in the interview) seemed very eloquent and with a sense of humour – irresistable! I often struggle with my desire to enjoy a joke within the black and white power lines in BDSM play. Serious Masters don’t like it, but personally I think most sex has room for a bit of giggle. Which is not to say that there aren’t times when the breathless anticipation, high-strung tension, fear/pleasure/submission don’t squeeze that impulse out sometimes but it can’t be full-boar 24/7. Not for me anyway, I like variety. I know I’m going to love this doco – I would even buy some kinks to watch it if that was allowable.

p.s. Princess Donna – honey you are SO an artiste! I have always loved your work and if I could have my 18yo body back again I’d be buying a plane ticket to let you prove it in person like a shot! XxX

I went to the premiere tonight and the film is absolutely fantastic. It’s great to see behind the scenes of my particular site of choice.
