From January 10, 2008:

There is a rather disturbing video clip that has been floating around the Internet lately called ‘Two Girls, One Cup’. Almost more fascinating to watch than the video itself, some would say, are the recorded reactions of people seeing the clip for the first time. Kink.com’s IT department didn’t want Founder and CEO, Peter Acworth to be left out of the growing phenomenon, so they set up the infamous video for him to watch. Check out Peter’s reaction to the clip.

Thank you Ilana. I missed Mark and was wondering what happened to him. Too bad that the shoot had to be rescheduled, but it was a wise decision. Health is the first priority. I think this long break will have beneficial effects. When he comes back at the end of this month, it will be 4 months since his last scene with SAS.

Welcome back Mark, and good luck for your next scene with the beautiful and charming Sabrina.

Sabrina, I know the anticipation of the day had been building up and then you got let down, but it’ll be great once you finally get to do it. Have fun!

So, when did Mark exactly realize when his back hurt because of his knee? The whole Behind the Kink scene seemed kind of not needed. Did he realize his back hurt when he walked around or when he sat down to eat? Either way, one would think that his back was hurting before he showed up. Or did the back go out some time during the shoot and it was not just shown? If his back bothered him again during the scene I could understand this being shown but to me it appears he got hurt eating food?????

In other words, this was pretty much a wasted behind the kink because in actuality Mark did not make a comeback because nothing was really filmed.

Please tell me what the point was of showing this?

    Stacey,

Believe it or not, it is not Behind Kink’s purpose to put on a show for you. We are here to let you in on what REALLY happens behind the scenes at Kink.com and shoots get canceled at the last minute ALL THE TIME (even really important ones). So while you might not have gotten what you planned for, you DID get the truth. This is News, not scripted drama. Sorry if it’s not your cup of tea.

And in terms of being a ‘wasted behind the kink’ it’s not like there’s a finite number of stories to tell or tapes to use. What exactly is wasted? Bandwidth? Space on our servers? 4 minutes of your life? And sorry to be nitpicky, but it’s Behind Kink, not Behind THE Kink.

To answer your question, the shoot was canceled before it began. When Mark arrived at Kink he was ready and eager to shoot. While his back was indeed injured, he didn’t think it would be a problem. Sabrina got her makeup done, the PA set up the props and toys, and the Videographer and lighting crew lit the set. When Marty finally got a chance to talk to Mark in detail about his back, he realized that Mark would be risking further injury if he did the shoot, so he encouraged him to throw in the towel and reschedule.

By the time this had happened, Behind Kink had already shot 90% of what we were going to shoot so we figured we might as well show you what had really happened.

It wasn’t the ending we set out for either but an end is an end, even if you don’t like it. And since Behind Kink is free, suggestions are far more effective than embittered complaints.

I like Mark and I hope he finally will return to do some more shoots for sexandsubmission.

After his comeback was cancelled minutes before the shooting started the behindkink newscast propably should have the focus on the cancellation, not on the comeback.

How about having Marty on the camera to explain why he decided to cancel the shoot after talking to Mark?

The scene of Marty and Mark talking during dinner was a little odd.

  6. ilana

Thanks for your suggestions. Next time I’ll chat with Marty. I just felt that Mark had explained it pretty well on his own, but it’s always nice to have another perspective. And I suspect that the scene of Marty and Mark talking in the green room was a little odd because my camera was shoved in their faces and Marty is a bit on the shy side.

    Thanks!

I for one am happy to see ANY shots of Mark Davis, and enjoyed this update. Maybe it was a “non-return to Sex and Submission” but I’ll take whatever I can get; I’m sure many female fans will agree.

  8. LK

I have to agree with Sandy. Any Mark Davis is good Mark Davis. 😉 Naked Mark Davis in my bed would be best but I will take what I can get!

  9. dreamr

I’m with sandy & LK…I’ll take any Mark I can get!!!He’s worth the wait!

Hope you’ll let us know when he’s back!

My comments were meant to be sarcastic and tongue-in-cheek. Sorry they were not taken that way. I realize tone cannot be detected via writing so I will not attempt any more drunken sarcasm again. I actually asked Ilana to remove my comments a few days ago but that has not happened.

Anyway, I am not much into b/g shoots but I am huge into Sabrina Fox. So, if what now apparently will be her Second b/g shoot is anywhere near the quality and intensity of her first, I may just have to re-subscribe to S&S.

  12. LK

As an FYI, tone is easily detected in writing if the writer has the ability and expertise to use words properly and with skill.

To imply otherwise negates the history of the written word and its writers.

Both sarcasm and irony are synonyms of wit, the essence of which your original post was lacking.

Glad to see Mark coming back…too bad it did not go as planned. Now if I could ask a off thread questiion. When whippedass started Kim Wilde was a big part of it. What happened to her involvement with the site? She seems to have been replaced by Sandra Romane…whom I actually like much better. Kim was way to switchy for me…and for me rapid switching kills a scene.

ilana cool the jets girl! I have a lot of agreement with staceyp, and his sarcasm did come through pretty clearly. But even if he was being completely serious, there is no need to flame him for 2 paragraphs straight :-X! It sounded just plain arrogant!

Saying “not your cup of tee”–“Behind THE Kink” shows some misunderstanding.

I don’t think it was a waste, or really a disappointment, but it was very confusing for me as well. I don’t think you should take his comment personally, rather “we find comfort among those who agree with us, growth among those who don’t” — so his comments can be learned from.

I found it very confusing that he left with a back problem months ago–but wait, he has a knee injury, no wait, it’s his back…or was it his knee…no his knee caused the back…twice–oh wait no he just got hurt eating a sandwich (which looked delicious by the way) and I can totally see where staceyp is coming from and applaud anyone who tries to use sarcasm to cheer things up. Having Marty explain what you did, or you the reporter explain yourself would have saved a whole lot of, “wait what?”s.

I digress. I really enjoy Mark’s shoots; it’s funny that he has the same exact name as my brother and I hope that he gets well soon. If he were to retire it would be sad but if it’s for his back, hell I would far less than blame him. Have a good one!

    stacey-

sorry i didn’t delete your post. eventually we’ll have a better system where members can edit their own posts after they make them (i can’t wait until that day comes!). but i hope you understand that in the meantime i can’t be expected to carry that responsibility myself. If everyone who wrote a drunk post asked me to delete them the next morning, well then hell, there’d be no posts! (especially from wookie 🙂 ). thanks for your patience.

    and cyberdog,

i fully appreciate and value criticism and certainly sarcasm. while i might have overreacted to stacey’s post, i certainly don’t think that i was arrogant or misunderstood the meaning behind it. my problem wasn’t with stacey’s confusion as to what had really happened (i answered the question fully without any attitude). My only frustration was with the notion that the episode was ‘wasted.’ we work really hard to give you Behind Kink, and being a free site, we depend on the appreciation of the members to know that it’s all worth it. So when someone tells us that a free movie about one of their favorite porn stars was a waste of their time, yes, i do feel a little offended and am apt to respond accordingly. can you see where i’m coming from at all?

We truly listen to every comment you make and take them all quite seriously. But there is a big difference between constructive criticism and questions, and self-righteous rants. While I’ll be the first one to agree that there is often more growth found in differing opinions, I also believe that there is even MORE growth possible when we express these opinions respectfully.

    yours,

    ilana

  17. cyberdog

ilana, I do see where you’re coming from, but like you said yourself, these opinions should be expressed respectfully. What you posted before was more of a flame (disrespectful) then a counter argument (respectful).

I hope that you also understand that we’re not taking the work for granite, behind kink is exceptional, which is why when an update isn’t up to par with godly we can get surprised :-O! I hope you can understand that ;-P.

For the record, you guys are great, the clip was great, I just felt I needed to voice that I think stacy’s comment was taking the wrong way and I don’t think there was mean intentions in the comment. If you want examples of mean intentions/rants/rude negative criticism simple look on youtube :-D.

I also see Mark is back!

    Best wishes

Mark is the man at Sex and Submission.

Sorry to hear he’s not at his best.

Back problems stem from weight issues.

Knee problems stem from the same thing.

It’s not age but fitness that inhibits.

Injuries invariably lead to weight gain.

Injury recovery is a two step process.

Mark needs to be selfish about recovery.

Carrying less would make his job easier.

Bad Back, Bad Knee, feeling burned out, still makes Mark the best in the bus. Just the sound of his voice is arousing to me. Maybe he could do voice overs. Hands down the most beautiful blue tender/devious eyes around. But I have a soft spot for blue eyed brits. Mark, live, love, you have given us all a wonderful collection of work that will stand the test of time.

Do what you love, and you will love what you do. Best wishes on wherever your path takes you, You will remain the standard.

  20. zmollie

Bad Back, Bad Knee, I was hoping he was taking a long needed Sabbatical (not to acquire new skills or training,I think you have mastered all there is to master in your field. You have graced us with many many fine collections of your work. You are the standard, you have the fine quaility of kindness/playfullness/and deviousness, but with the manners of a fine Englishman. Your voice alone is probably your best feature, your smile (both of them), the twinkle in your eye,the obivous pride you take in your work, There is no need for redemption from Mark Davis. You have nothing to prove. It does help I have a thng for blue eyed, deviously smiled Brits. When I saw you were not on the calander, I took a break too. ps staceyp get a clue think before you speak, if you are allowed to speak out loud that is.
